Bartók wakes up all by itself

I’M SURE YOU HAVE CHECKED THESE:

  1. Stray Infrared (IR) Interference: The front panel IR sensor on the Bartók is highly sensitive and can be triggered by stray sunlight or ambient IR signals from other household electronics (like TVs or smart appliances).
    • The Test: Temporarily cover the tiny IR window on the front panel with opaque tape or a small folded Post-it note to see if the random wake-ups stop. [1, 2]
  2. Network/App Wake Requests: Streaming software like Roon or Spotify will automatically wake endpoints on your network to initiate playback.
    • The Fix: Check your Roon zone settings or app configurations for “Auto-sleep” or “Wake” options. Try temporarily turning off Bluetooth or using a wired Ethernet connection instead of Wi-Fi to prevent wireless packet queuing/bursts from waking the device. [1, 2]
  3. Firmware Bug: Earlier versions of the Bartók streaming firmware had a known issue causing irregular power-ups.
    • The Fix: Ensure your unit is updated to the latest firmware version via the dCS Mosaic App. [1, 2]
  4. Hard Power Off: If you want to ensure the unit stays completely off instead of remaining warm in standby mode, don’t just use the front-panel button. Use the physical rocker switch located on the back panel of the unit. [1]Cheers
