I am experiencing an issue with my Rossini APEX unit, which has suddenly stopped connecting to Tidal. Despite resetting the unit’s configuration and streaming interface, the problem persists.
The DAC is accessible via its IP address and is visible through the Mosaic app. However, when I select Tidal on the Mosaic app, it only displays a loading circle without proceeding further.
I also reinstalled the app, power cycled, changed IP address, change ethernet cable and what not
AT first sight this does not sound like a problem with your Rossini or Mosaic. It may be an issue with Tidal or how Tidal is supplied to dCS which is via airable ( from Germany).
airable also supplies Qobuz and the internet radio services. So the first thing to do is find if internet radio is working. If that is also not functioning then the solution probably lies outside of your control and you will need to wait for airable to restore itself. It sometimes goes down but not frequently. You don’t say where you are so we can’t find out if other users in your locality are also suffering. I can’t check it at my end as my dCS kit is currently offline and I will be unable to boot it up until later this evening ( BST).
Thanks. If there are other Israeli Mosaic users please let us know if you are also suffering issues with Tidal or internet radio currently.
This does sound like arable supply is down for you though. It rarely occurs but like most internet services it can go down occasionally. I think you may need a little patience until it is restored.
It worked fine until I reset its network interface via web browser, so even Tudal connect (direct) doesnt work, therefore I suspect its the DCS unit trying to connect to Tidal and keeping it stuck.
Is there any way to reset the cache and/or credentials from the unit?
I am unsure what you have done. Rossini /Mosaic does not connect via a web browser AFAIK, ( e.g Chrome, firefox etc.) Usual connection is by network via a switch ( or router). Please try this. Do you mean that you have changed its ISP address?
The Rossini APEX unit can be accessed via web browser by typing in its IP address.
Then you have a GUI that allows you some basic functions, including a streaming network interface reset… which resets the unit identification name etc.
Thanks. I know but I still do not know what you actually did. Could you expand on this in detail? Is Mosaic connecting or when you try are you seeing a continuous buffering circular icon? Is Mosaic being discovered correctly and are you able to play local files i.e. by UPnP? Have you changed a dynamic IP address to a static one or vice versa? If you have changed the ID of the unit it is possible that lies behind your issue.
Yes, all I see is a continuous buffering circular icon instead of being redirected to the Tidal login page (as I reset the unit).
Mosaic is being discovered correctly and local files are being played easily.
When I use Tidal desktop on my PC , tidal connect can see the Rossini APEX DAC but displays a “server error” when trying to play anything.
Therefore I am pretty sure the p[roblem is with the DAC itself.
I think that may not be the right conclusion. If you are seeing a buffering icon I an talking of when you select Mosaic, not when you try to access Tidal. This all is sounding like a network problem of some kind. I am going to draw the attention of @struts001 and @Anupc to this as they have better knowledge than I do.
If Mosaic is properly connecting to your Rossini, and Spotify works, then it’s highly unlikely your Rossini is at fault here.
As Pete suggests, it’s more than likely something’s going wrong between your home broadband access to the Internet, Airable, or Tidal.
Assuming you’re fully logged out of Tidal from Mosaic, when you click on the TIDAL icon in Mosaic’s source selection, you should get a Mosaic’s redirect login screen, like this;
When you click on that blue [Go to login] button, airable (via Mosaic) will trigger your Mosaic client device to launch its default Web Browser to Tidal’s login page (login.tidal.com).
You’ll then need to login to Tidal via that Web page, and Tidal will send back an authentication verification (via oAuth 2.1) back to airable/Mosaic to allow you to browse and play music.
If the above is not happening, you might want to describe where exactly it’s failing. Also, you might want to reboot/clear caches on your Mosaic client device (and make sure that device has no issue surfing the internet).
Thanks Anupc!
My broadband is just fine as my other streamer works without any issues.
How do I make sure tidal is logged out from Mosaic?
When I click tidal on the Mosaic app, that’s when I get the endless loading circle.
My Mosaic device is my iphone and my ipad - both are stuck within tidal → mosaic.
I uninstalled and reinstalled the Mosaic app on both - nothing helps.
A factory default and/or the streaming interface reset should have logged you out of Tidal if I’m not mistaken
Can you post an iPhone screenshot of that?
If I were to venture a guess, it’s possibly that you’ve got airable reachability issues from where you are. All Tidal browsing from Mosiac is actually from airable, it’s only when you select an album or track that the Rossini actually streams from Tidal.
As for Tidal Connect (via the Tidal App to your Rossini), I believe you have to be logged into Tidal for that to operate properly (can’t quite recall, and am not at home at the moment to check it)
All I need to know is how to reset Mosaic / Tidal cache so I can re-enter credentials as deleting and reinstalling the Mosaic app doest help.
Where does Mosaic take the Tidal login information from?
