The “reconnect” message is generated when Mosaic loses connection with your network. So you are doing something that is causing this but it is not possible to easily judge what it may be here.
Normally changing sources in Mosaic ( small globe icon at the bottom of the screen to return you to the menu) will work seamlessly.
Suggestion:
If you open Mosaic while you are listening to a source other than provided in Mosaic e.g. YouTube via S/Pdif, then Mosaic will be left idle and may time out. Hence the need to reconnect. I suggest that you use Mosaic control to pick the input that you want but then close Mosaic if it is other than a service provided via Mosaic itself.
Thanks for the comment, Pete.
My question more precisely is that if I can switch between network and spdif inputs without going back to the main menu (“audio” ). The volume can be adjusted simply by clicking the volume number, and can I do that by touching the network/spdif icon? (I tried and I couldn’t)
You mean the graphic icon that ,for example, is of an RJ45 port for any of the AES inputs selected shown in the play bar? No as the icon is not active just information.
I think that the only way for direct switching remotely that I think you want is with the IR remote . Though even this has limitations as you may need to cycle through the available ports until you reach the one you want.The IR remote is, of course, an extra for Rossini.
Simon, you might want to review the following thread in full, and rephrase your question or connect with [email protected] on the specific issue you might be facing;
Now I got answers for my question.
It was the matter of little inconvenience.
I have a hugh(?)/heavy metal dCS remote already but the merits of using Modaic app from the phone (one device for using Qobuz and dCS, light, access to all the functions of Mosaic) outweigh the using two devices (phone and remote). So I will keep using Mosaic. I hope dCS introduce a new remote just like MSB (metal but light/small, beautifully crafted, simply best remote I have own).
By the way, I was surprised the construction of community app of dCS and MSB is almost identical, most probably from the same app design company. But dCS app is better as only dCS screen shows everything without moving the screen left and right.
Likewise I am sure dCS can come up with a better remote than MSB if dCS decide to do so.
I think it is terrific for @Anupc to remember that thread from a couple of years ago. There really doesn’t seem to be a conclusion so your email to support may reveal something.
The remote for Varese is Bluetooth not IR and I would not expect dCS to change the existing one to a similar one to Varese which may also require new Bluetooth receivers fitted as IR seems not where their thoughts are now. Development costs large and likely uptake probably small.
