Mosaic 1.44 update not working

Unfortunately I cannot update to the new Mosaic 1.44. Both not through Mosaic Control App, and the network interface.

Both say: No update available.

Same here…

Initially I did not see a network board update to v523 either for my Rossini - but just now I do…

What update? At 111:00 UK time there has been no announcement from dCS. We normally get a posting here from them with a link to the release notes.

In any case I remember from past experience that it can take some time for AppStore to action updates.

Keep us informed. Has dCS emailed you ?

NB: I won’t try an update on the chance that it is there as my system is temporarily out of action.

Edit: Thanks @Ermos . The link that you kindly provided to James’ notification did not turn up in my “Latest” view of the forum for some reason. Still hasn’t.

James posted about it;

Thanks @Paul_Bemelmans , the 5th attempt was successful!

@Ermos & @Bauer

Are you still unable to see the update? We’ve not seen any issues this end so if you are can you let me know whether you are on iOS Mosaic or Android Mosaic? (To [email protected] please…)

Similarly - if anyone else is unable to see the update then by all means comment on here if you wish but please can you also email [email protected] to let me know then I can track exactly who is having issues and try to work out what the issue is rather than trying to track on here…

Thanks

Phil

Indeed. Rossini did indeed update - though the handshake with the app on my iPhone during the update was less than perfect - as per usual. It prompted me to manually reboot the Rossini but I just waited a little longer and Rossini did it all by itself.

By the way, Qobuz Connnect is still MIA.

Hi Paul - Qobuz Connect is not in this release … it is still being worked on.

Thanks @Phil
The network board update is now showing…

I had the same with my Android Phone: the updated Mosaic Control App could not find my Rossini Apex DAC anymore. But now @Phil all good, through the Web Interface.

I must admit I’m very disappointed about the lack of Connect. Yeah, it wasn’t mentioned in the release notes, still, I hoped it would have magically shown up. Mosaic updates have become very scarce lately, and the fact it wasn’t included gives me the bad feeling it’s still very, very far away. Had it been 2 weeks away you would just have kept this one on hold.

Hi @Fafner,

This update was necessary to add Lina DAC X compatibility to the release version of Mosaic and at the same time we have also released some completed bug fixes across other platforms too plus some additional functionality for Lina … Qobuz Connect is separate to those updates and will follow as soon as it is complete and tested.

I hope that helps.

Mosiac initially said no update available so I did it through the AppStore which worked fine. After the Mosiac update, I could then see the network board update via Mosiac which again worked fine.

After attempted download and reboot of unit and restart of app update successful

I updated this morning. I first updated the iPhone app, then looked for an update once I connected to my BartĂłk. It found it and started the process. After a while, the app disconnected and started trying to reconnect, the BartĂłk itself kept telling it was updating. At some point I tought it was stuck and was tempted to shut it down and retry, but after a while it just rebooted itself. Just have some patience.

I usually initiate updates via the web app but today from Mosaic on my iPad. After downloading and updating the app was spinning on reconnecting to Upsampler. I just updated the Mosaic ap on the iPad and everything immediately was up and running. No issues at all.

I have updated my Lina, BartĂłk and Vivaldi today and all three went completely smoothly. Remember I am remote to the factory so I am using exactly the same process as everyone else.

Just one point to bear in mind. While the network board firmware is updating the unit is not connected to the network so the Mosaic app thinks it is offline. At this point there will be a message on the front panel display telling you what is going on whereas the Mosaic app will just be displaying the spinning wheel of death. So it can be a good idea to be in front of the unit while you are updating it so you can see the front panel display as well as the web UI/Mosaic.

When I first tested the beta release of 1.4.4 on my Lina I thought the update had failed as I lost contact with it and was unable to reconnect. I filed a bug report only to find out, to my huge embarrassment, that the unit was requesting a restart via its front panel which I hadn’t seen as I was sitting in a different room. One restarted everything was fine. Very red face here! :flushed:

Good for you, but for me, and others, it did not.

I was in front of my Rossini all the time. But first I tried to update the Mosaic Control App on my iPad Air, just to be reminded that it is no longer supported for Mosaic updates. The Rossini manual says it is supported…

I went on on my Android Phone. Updating the app went smoothly. But after that it refused to find my Rossini. Tried a long time. No success.

Switched over to the Network Interface, which of course found my Rossini. But it did not find an Internet Update. Four tries.

After an hour it did find an update. Then everything went smoothly.

The whole experience was below par. I think dCS should work on making this better.

Sorry @Ermos, that’s not good at all. :frowning:

The iPad Air issue would seem to be clear cut. Either it is a bug or an error in the manual. @Phil should be able to help figure out which.

Regarding your Mosaic discovery issue, did you try both broadcast discovery and manual IP address entry? Same problem with both?

Regarding your web client not being able to ”see” the update I have no idea. It sounds like some part of the download caching infrastructure (i.e. the internet’s invisible ”plumbing”) was a bit slow to update, but I’m just guessing.

Anyway, glad everything resolved itself in the end.
