A very worthy winner of the 2022 Cliburn.

:heart::heart::heart::heart::heart:

Dead Man Ray was co-founded by Rudy Trouvé after he left dEUS.
There’s definitely the creativity vibe of the dEUS first records in this disc - playing with dissonances, mixing genres - even including some Electronica here and there (“Copy of 78”).

Not available as is on streaming platforms. The record available is called “Berchem Trap” which is a mix of their two first opuses, with some titles that are now totally absent…

Thanks Lima for posting this. However may I ask a small favour of you and others?

Please don’t just post album artwork or screenshots. Several friends here have limited vision or are blind. Some need to use text to speech converters to read but it cannot read images ( which the screenshot is even though the image contains text.). in order that they may share your recommendation lease briefly add some descriptive text ( see today’s entry below your post from @Bauer as an example).

Slagwerk Den Haag, Anthony Fiumara, Philip Glass – Vitreous Body

SQ : vitality and delicacy on a recording of crystalline quality

The opening track Chorale, composed by Anthony Fiumara, will demonstrate what your rig is capable of.

The compositions of Philip Glass have proved capable of endless interpretation and reimagining, the two percussion versions of his music on this CD providing excellent examples. Music in Similar Motion is an early piece for the Glass Ensemble while Mad Rush originated as a composition for organ before becoming better known in its transcription for solo piano (there are also recordings for guitar, and piano combined with electronics).

Mad Rush dates from the late ‘70s and combines the in your face impact of early Glass with Neoclassical melodicism and a greater sense of dynamic contrast. Music in Similar Motion is full throttle and unrelenting rock ‘n’ rolling minimalism. Anthony Fiumara’s percussion arrangements of music composed for keyboards and winds are a revelation and truly thrilling; the relentless drive, visceral power and propulsive energy is retained yet combined with a graceful fluidity.

Most of the CD is comprised of Fiumara’s compositions which are informed by the repetitive structures of Minimalism while inhabiting an ethereal and contemplative soundworld which provides a stark contrast to the freneticism of the Glass works. The track Petals, in particular, is a creation of fragile beauty which reworks Renaissance music to haunting effect.

Slagwerk Den Haag perform with a judicious mix of vitality and delicacy on a recording of crystalline quality.

Slagwerk Den Haag currently is operating under the name of HIIIT.
