Volume/output Rossini DAC

Hi,

Just setting up a new Rossini and wow even with the dac volume turned all the up, the output to 6V, and the volume all the way up on Audirvana I still have turn the volume on my preamp way up at least 20 db higher then normal just to get to a decent listening level. I must be doing something wrong.

Sounds very strange indeed. What are you comparing it to, what is ”normal”?

Volume control output display should read 0.0dbfs. Do you see that on the Rossini display panel?

We need more info to help Randy. You are playing files in Audirvana on what? Mac or PC? How is it connected to the Rossini? Ethernet or USB (local or network output in Audirvana)? How is the Rossini connected to the preamp? Balanced or unbalanced?

If you are comparing to your Ayre QB-9 DSD (per your post in the other thread) there is no way the Rossini should be giving lower volume. The full scale output for the Ayre is 2V on RCA and 4V on XLR. Something is likely wrongly configured, the question is what.

You said you solved this @Randy. What turned out to be the problem?

Hi @Randy

I was away last week at the UK HiFi Show in Ascot so just catching up, is this still an issue or - as @struts001 has said - do you now have this sorted?

If you are still having issues then please can you let me know either here or (ideally) at [email protected]

Thanks

Phil
