Hi has anyone tried using there Verona clock, to clock the network bridge. And if so how will I know if it is being clocked ? There doesn’t seem to anything in the software that lets me know.
I have connected one of the 5 outputs to the network bridge, and when streaming I have to manually change the clock frequency to either 44.1 or 48.
I also use the Verona to clock the Elgar Plus Verdi and Purcell, these all have word clock inputs and the front panel tells me that this is connected as it lights up . I also have to set the Elgar Plus to Ms Sink in the Menu and the SPDIF will light up telling me the DAC is being clocked by the Verona.
So has anybody used this legacy collection with the network bridge ?
I believe you can see this in mosaic. It’s been a while since I had a NWB, but you can use it like this perfectly, you only need to switch the frequency manually (or use a second clock for the other frequency)
I am not sure as I do not know if Mosaic has controls for Network Bridge. My old one dated from a period before Mosaic added these at all. Of course Elgar Plus,Purcell or Verona will not appear as they predate any of this and here will be no way of Mosaic seeing what Verona or the other first generation units are doing.
I am unsure about this too as looking at user manuals for Elgar and Purcell I can see no indicator for wordclock showing in the display panels. There is a BNC tell-tale but this is for the data input, not wordclock. Still, it’s 15 years since my units were replaced so maybe I am overlooking something.
August is right, from Mosaic’s main menu, select Support → Status, and you should see a screen that tells you status of the Network Bridge’s Clock Ports and whether they’re receiving an appropriate clock signal (unfortunately I’m away from home currently and can’t share a screen shot).
Hi yes I have just checked this in the mosaic app and I can see in Support then Status this page shows WORDCLOCK 1 RATE 44.1 or 48 depending on what the stream is coming in I’ve also got WORDCLOCK 2 RATE connected showing the same rate 44.1 or 48
Just have to toggle through on the Verona the correct clock frequency either 44.1 of 48 that’s the only frustration !
Hi David,
I had the Verona with the Elgar plus,Netwerk bridge for 6 years and a Mutec ref 10 on the Verona and that did work perfect.
I only had to switch the Verona between 44.1 and 48.
Now I have a Rossini and use two Verona s and the Mutec.
One Verona on 44.1 and the other on 48 and that works well the Rossini switches automaticly.
Maybee the Netwerk bridge does the same.
Regards,
Dirk
I never thought I could use 2 Verona’s now you got me thinking, I’m guessing the network bridge will be able to play tracks choosing the correct click frequency if 1 Verona uses 44.1 KHz and the other Verona uses 48 KHz and both connected to the network bridge.
Can you confirm this would now switch automatically?!
