Update dCS Mosaic v1.41 & Network firmware 510

I have just updated to dCS Mosaic v1.41 & Network firmware 510, and all went smoothly. I have downloaded the updated Mosaic app, and updated my Rossini Apex DAC through the web interface.

I hope this time much fewer people will have problems updating! The release notes mention an improvement to the installation process:

Just a note on this as well - Rossini 2.1 included a control board update for the unit, whereas this is simply a network firmware update. As such, there is much less going on with the update, so it should be a simple process to get it installed.

Hi @James I have updated to Network Board frimware 501 bur neither App Store nor Play Srore are giving any update to Mosaic 1.40. Should there be a 1.41 version ready to update?

Hi Pete,

I know the app stores can lag behind a little - I can now see the update on the iOS App Store so it seems they should be filtering through.

Hi Pete,

You are on Vivaldi, and this update is for Rossini v2.1 and Lina Network DAC v1.1. So it does not apply to Vivaldi, I presume. But maybe I am wrong.

Pete, the automatic Apple Appstore update availability is a little dodgy sometimes. So, from the Appstore app, force an update by searching for “dCS Mosaic Control” and selecting the App, you’ll see an update available for download.

Vi! I just updated my dCS NWB successfully. Mosaic processor version is 1.4.1 (510) and Mosaic Control version is still 1.4.0
Works like a charm

This time I updated my Rossini Player via the Rossini’s web page.

It downloaded the Network Update and said:

Processing Update…
Verifying Update
Image Verified. Performing Update.
Applying update. Your device will reboot and dCS Mosaic will lose contact.

No obvious reboot ever took place, but then the web page started throwing this error continuously:

Error: “TypeError: undefined is not an object (evaluating ‘val.exitMessage.isError’)” at Line 290, Column37

When I then checked the version through the Mosaic app, it reported the Network Board was now version 1.4.1 (510.)

The network board version and Mosaic are universal items for the range aside from Lina for the former ( now 1.1). The update includes the provision of HLS which relates to internet radio and thus must involve Mosaic. I have been requesting this for years and it will be essential for me when BBC radio changes platform later this year.

Thanks @James but at the time of writing from the UK (11.49 GMT) apple Apps and Google Play Store still have no update.

Pete, it’s definitely there. Like I mentioned, explicitly search for Mosaic Control on the AppStore, select it, and then you’ll see the (Update) button;

After many years of rolling out apps on the Appstore it APPEARS that apps automatically become visible/available in a sort of staged rollout across all the different territories - sometimes updated apps can take up to a week to automatically get updated - however as Anup has suggested if you actually search for it then you should find the updated app.

It’s just the way they do it…

I had to force update it on my iPhone via the appstore as well. Once installed this was the smoothest update I’ve done - the first time I didn’t have to hard restart my Bartok to get the update to work

And half an hour later, I got version 1.4.1 via Google Play.

Anup you are showing the network board update to 510 which I have already installed. What is missing is Mosaic v.1.41. This is still not available yet from either the UK App or Play stores. For the next hour I am awaiting a delivery from Ocado then I go to the dentist ( this is just to let you know what an exciting and rich life I have) so I will try later.

Hi Pete,

My non-Testflight iPhone (I haven’t checked my non-Testflight iPad yet) updated to 1.4.1 without even needing to go look for it … so it’s definitely up there.

Thanks Phil,

OK I have now got Mosaic 1.41 in both Android and iOS versions

Edit: my misread. Still no iOS version available.

I suspect this might be a red herring, but I decided to update to Rossini 2.1 today and was having problems, just hanging, not updating. Tried it both from Mosaic and web interface multiple time, both the same.

I then turned the VPN off on my iPad, tried again via Mosaic and all went fine on the next attempt.

Cheers, Mike.

FWIW, I just did the regular check for updates on iOS (iPhone) and saw and updated to 1.41 without any issues. I have not tried it yet as I am at work. I am in NYC, BTW.

All is now updated no problems aside from the earlier delay from App Store.
