In the current setup I could do without it I guess.
But I want to add a turntable in the future. Still have all the vinyl I bought in the past. Form a badly scratched CCR’s Cosmo’s Factory from when I was just a kid to more recent vinyl like a live recording from Mandolin Orange.
Traded in my Linn when I bought this stuff because I could not operate it anymore with my not-so-steady old hand. Looking for something like an SME 12. But first have to gather funds…
Fantastic looking set up!
I did the same as you, got rid of my Fraim and Naim NDX2 and most of the amplification.
All I’ve got left is the 300, which is now connected directly to my Bartók Apex. Don’t miss the 282 at all.
When funds allow, the 300 will go as well.
May I ask the name of your new rack, HRS, Solid Steel?
Solid Steel.
Thanks for letting me know👍
That’s exactly what I’ve just gone and done. My 282 sold on eBay.
I still have my 300DR, but that will almost certainly go in a few months.
How many vortex feets do you use under your dac? 3 or 4?
I use 4 under the Vivaldi APEX DAC and another 4 under my Grimm MU1.
In case it’s helpful as another data point, I have four Vortex feet under my Rossini and another four under my Vivaldi Clock. They work a treat.
Just added a Rossini clock to the system. I know stacking with the Bartok is not really advised but I don’t have space below for another full width component. That said, I think the stack looks really nice.
Which INT is that?
How do you like it?
INT 60. Love it. I have have tubes and great solid state, but the Pass does the best of both worlds. And great with the Sonus Fabers.
Looks like a beautiful and simple (in a positive way) system Jim.
Beautiful setup. Congratulations
Amazing system!
And my question stands: what is sounding better in the new FREE modem/switch that my provider installed? I have optical fiber to the switch.
Can not answer this, I experienced SQ improvements when using Ansuz, Melco and Innuos switches…
