Hallo, just wondering if you Are satisfied with Your speakers?

Absolutely loving it. The dealer has offered an upgrade to the newer Mingus Septet, which represents Marten’s new design direction. It’s definitely tempting.

Hallo. Nice to hear,i have had the same speakers for just a little more than a week no. So far realy happy with the performance.

Two years later … Now my speakers are Borresen 03 and I love them, and an Ansuz D3 Power distributor down there is looking at me, and doing its incredible job waaay beyond any expectation.

Also, my Internet provider decided that they had to swap the old modem/router with a new one. At no cost for me. Unfortunately, and unexpectedly, It sounds much better. I hate them. Now I have to believe in hi-end Ethernet switches and cables. I never thought this day would come. WHAT in that black box actually makes it sound better?

Oh well … Where do we start now? Where’s my wallet?

I tested all manner of after market feet until I checked in with the manufacturer of my racks, HRS. Michael Latvia, who is the chief engineer, recommended using their own Vortex feet for dCS gear, especially the DAC. I did so for my Vivaldi and later under the APEX. Makes a significantly better result than without. Used the same under my streamer, a Grimm MU1, and again it made a noticeable improvement in lowering the noise floor. And for my etherREGEN switch also used a few of less costly Stack Audio AUVA feet which, again, helped. As Andrew and Anupc have noted, these devices with their clock crystals seem especially sensitive to all manner of vibration. Some chassis even benefit from using vibration damping as well. So, it’s certainly worth testing.

imho go for the D3 switch first

What a beautiful setup you have there!

Hiya Gregg
Love the new rack! Did you sell your Fraim, or have you confined it to other duties?
My 6 level Fraim has now totally gone, temporarily using my 35 year old Target rack. Bloody thing just won’t die!:joy:

Fraim is still here. I will try to sell it this summer however local pickup only - as it will be impossible to box up. I do not expect it will be an easy sell. Naim has taken quite a hit in the US and demand is not what it used to be.

Glad to see a Classe Amp im using two M600s for my Alex Vs

After all the firmware crap they have had over the last 6 months or more, it looks like it’s not just USA.
Was speaking to a dealer here in the UK, he was a big seller of naim over the years, he said sales are right down, the new stuff just isn’t selling, he has even moved all his naim gear that did have it’s own room, to just on the shelf in the spare room, and not even plugged in.

Less is more.:grin::wink:
Full Naim system,NAP300DR,NAC252,NDS,CDX2,SupercapDR,XPSDR,555PS replaced with Bartok Apex and Soulution 325 pre and 311 poweramp.
Rack is temporarely. New 4-level rack from Solid Steel on backorder. Need a 4 level rack because Linn LP12 is gone too. Don’t have a steady hand anymore so need to the Linn to be replaced with something without a subchassis like Linn.

How you finding the big difference in how it sounds, as naim certainly has it’s own sound i found.

Yes,agree,Naim sounds very different. Was always happy with Naim. Went the usual route,200/202 to 282/250 to 252/300. Anyway, about a year ago I found I did not enjoy the music anymore. Not like I used to. Sounded dull, not engaging. Tried moving speakers, other cables, the usual stuff. Alas to no avail. Had a talk with the dealer (they dropped Naim too btw) and made the mistake (:wink:) to tell him Ihad a budget to get things right again. Well,no surprise, they turned up with some demo stuff and the result was as shown.
To answer your question, the difference,at least for me,is in detail and soundstage. What I have now is,again for me,at least 2 leagues higher then the Naim setup I had before. Detailing and soundstage is phenomenal. E.g. the track American Skin from Springsteen Live in NY,where in the intro every member of the supporting vocal choir sings the phrase “41 shots”. You can exactly pinpoint where they stand on the stage. All and all,as you no doubt can guess, very happy with this setup.

Nice system

Did you felt the need for the pre instead connect directly from the Bartók?
