Hi, I have been dealing with an issue for some time I have been troubleshooting. I have a Rossini apex player, hardwired to a dedicated Ethernet line in an RJ45 wall jack. Using IPad Pro /or MBP and mosaic I have been experiencing drop out of “No Input” messages on and off. I have 2 GB cox internet connection and all other home network equipment is operating as it should. I have a synology NAS with MinimServer which holds the music files. In addition the UPnP also does not see the Rossini in and out as well. I have been troubleshooting with Cox support and today a technician was sent to my home and verified the cable signal and all equipment is functioning as it should with a high signal strength. I am and was hoping beyond hope it was not an issue with the Unit itself up to this point to avoid the major hassle of shipping it for any service? My question is are there any internal settings or things I can check on the unit prior to contacting DCS?
Some more knowledgeable guys might chime in, but both the Ipad and MBP are running on a wireless connection while the Rossini is on a wired connection. That could be the source of your problem.
Further to August I will try and clarify that the physical dispersion of your units ( Rossini, server, Mosaic app) are not the fundamental issue. What is is that they are all on the same network or, more precisely , on a related subgroup. So their IP addresses should be similar with only the final digits varying e.g. 192.168.178.xx.
However if you find that this is correct it may then be necessary to investigate your router or switch software settings.
As I have often posted, I am not a network expert so you may need assistance from support whom I seem to remember you have contacted before but I do not know the outcome:
Hi @ARDDCS
That WON’T be your internet connection that is causing this … it will be an internal issue related to either the network or the Rossini.
If you switch the Ethernet connection over from the “Main” port to the “Loop” port on the back of the Rossini then does that improve the issue? (The “Loop” port is limited to 100Mbits/sec whereas the “Main” port is Gigabit.)
Can you get your Rossini connected directly back to your router (even if it’s only for a short period to test) without going through the wall plates and the built-in cabling - that may need a long Ethernet cable of course.

Problem solved…thx all again. It was a bad RJ45
I have, and have always had the same problem.
Bartok did the same thing…
I always chalked it up to the DCS….
Wow…really, hope they address it at this price point…
Yes - and on the changing of the Ethernet cable. I use it direct connect, but also tried it off of a wireless access point to Ethernet. Same thing.
It’s not too frequent - i think just comes with the territory.
Hi Ross,
You shouldn’t have any issues with network connections dropping - have you contacted us or your dealer to try to work through the issue?
Phil
Most likely the thread should be re-titled “ my home internet intermittently drops my Rossini”. Thats usually the reason.
You may have seen on another post I responded that I had the cable company check all the lines. It did find a line I had installed had a bad RJ45 jack connection. Drops vanished after I used a different line. However I am having an issue with DSD files playing in a warped sound manor Mosaic and Rossini and Minimserver set up, all other files are fine??
Hi Phil.
I never bothered, but now that you mention it maybe I should.
I will PM you.
Best,
Ross
