Qobuz Tracks refuse to play via Mosaic app, Skipping the first track, but plays the next track

Not wanting to speak too soon, but the two Qobuz HiRes albums I had issues with, now play as they should. No pop ups, no skipping. :crossed_fingers:

I did speak too soon!
Bloody thing is skipping tracks again! On Qobuz 80’s Party playlist.

Well the Qobuz bulletin of 10th anticipated that there may be remaining issues and asks them to be reported using the track link ( whatever that is ).

No idea what that means, ask me one on sport!

. As far as I have been able to find out it means using the Share icon to contact them (their address?) as it shows the URL of the track . I guess that they don’t want to hunt it.

Some more time has passed and gave a try again on that Gorécki/Upshaw recording. Luckily, it plays fine now. Either they fixed it server-side as announced or the new 9.x.x.x Qobuz beta fixed that.
And finally the new Qobuz beta doesn’t lower the volume each time it connects to my Vivaldi One via Connect anymore.

The Qobuz problem was caused by their transfer to the cloud . It seems to have been fixed and I have not seen further reports of its occurrence.

I am aware of the beta version of the desktop player but I think most of us use the device app which does not have a beta version AFAIK. However the beta desktop was distributed to ( some?) subscribers directly by Qobuz. They have only sent me that. No update in AppStore when I checked a few days ago. What are you using?

Android. If you join the Beta program there’s a 9.x.x.x beta with lyrics support, some Connect improvements and some other stuff. On iOS you have to go through Testflight.

Thanks, I am not part of the Qobuz beta development program so havre no tTest Flight access for it. I will need to await the full release.

Looks like Qobuz may be up to their old tricks again?Tracks skipping, playing twice, stopping mid track. Etc…

Have you an example or two so that I can see if happens here?

Thanks Pete…I was playing this album.

It’s very random, no pattern, using Qobuz on Mosaic and the Eversolo T8. “A Day In The Life” just suddenly stopped halfway through and then played “All You Need Is Love”
Not a big deal Pete, I’ll monitor it.
It’s helpful to know that it did it both on Mosaic and Eversolo T8.

Late reply Pete … but did try the beta program and that version of Qobuz was so glitchy I had to delete it and revert. I am surprised they even released it for beta testing.

I have had lots of exchanges with them - their search is awful, it fails to find artists, albums and tracks that I know are on their database, the slightest misspelling throws search off course, it’s impossible to share a single track without sharing the whole album … I could go on.

It feels like their tech team is dramatically under resourced or a bit incompetent. Or both.

I tried it and. yes, stopped and started again during Day in the Life. So I apparently have the same fault. So far I have not heard of other similar issues so this may be an isolated marred transfer. Lets’ see of we find other examples.

I would notify Qobuz but their AI customer service input is crap so I won’t bother. I am now too late to cancel my annual subscription renewal anyway ( were I so minded).

Damn, knocked over my joss sticks. These damned kaftans are so easy to trip over.

Be groovy :victory_hand:

Hi David,

I tried playing the same track from Qobuz twice between 20:15 and 20:45 UK time and it played through both times with no problems. Perhaps a temporary issue?

No (Qobuz?) problem over here, track plays flawless using Aurender’s Conductor app

Have something similar with Qobuz Connect. Sometimes a track skips at a random point to the next track. Start it again from the beginning and it plays fine. Only with Qobuz Connect,Mosaic works flawless.

Same for me. Happened a couple of times during my last listening session from some days ago. Haven’t noted down the albums, unfortunately.

It seems that reports of this issue are currently limited. A few here but difficult to see consistency.

I have peeked at the Naim and Roon community forums but I do not see reports along this line ( except historic ones from the original occurrence earlier in the year).

So maybe it was a temporary glitch?

Sorry for the late reply Pete, busy having a puff or two!
You know what, I can’t be arsed to contact Qobuz, and have let my membership lapse (18/05) I can’t be dealing their Bot, Kara, again.
I’ll re look at it in a couple of months.
