Hi @Erwan,

Hi @Erwan,
I was out of the office yesterday but we did receive your files, I picked those up this morning - and your following update to say that you found the option on your NetGear Orbi that resolved it.
My view is that that is on Qobuz to provide instructions as it is their app. I had the Qobuz app on my iPad and it was super easy to get going once the dCS firmware upgrade was complete and that was also super easy.
Whatâs odd is that for normal everyday listening to Roon or Tidal that box has always been unchecked on my older Orbi set-up and in the newer 870 I installed last weekend.
I donât use Quobuz so I canât help here
Iâll bite - I do hear a bit of a difference between Qobuz Connect and Mosaic⊠definitely still early listening, but I might say that Qobuz connect sounds a bit thinnerâŠ
This is on vivaldi apex stack.
OK, letâs admit it - I havenât the faintest idea how to get this to work.
The update is installed and is confirmed in the Versions screen. Qubuz player is installed on my iPhone15. This is the same device that Mosaic is installed on so we know that the phone is on the correct LAN subgroup and that the LAN handles multi-cast without error. So:
Where? There is no "Qobuz Connect " either showing as an option in Mosaic ( Just Qobuz as usual) not in the Qobuz player application. If I select the latter I hear music through the iPhone speakers but thatâs it.
Any advice?
Actually Pete⊠you are there. First, the phone and dCS player must be on the same local network. Your phone actually sees your dCS already. Just play something at Qobuz on your phone, and then, as shown above, open the output selection icon on your phone⊠now showing as your âphoneâ. And from the list that comes up, change the selection of output to your dCS player. Enjoy the music and Qobuz features.
Thanks to both @Coppy and @imprezap2 .
Now I have found the speaker selection icon all is fine. At this point I cannot find much to distinguish one from the other sonically. Listening to the new Rachel Podger and Brecon Baroque " Just Biber" issue ( Channel Classics 24/192) via either source is equally magnificent. Or so I think now. Time for some extended sessions.
My Rossini Apex dac required the latest network board firmware which was easy to download and install and then, Qobuz saw the dac and it works!
Btw, imho, I think the Mosaic sounds a bit more open and natural compared to the Qobuz Connect.
Michael
Is there any way of powering down dCS units via the Qobuz app. under Qobuz Connect? I have a Rossini DAC and Vivaldi clock. I canât see how to do it and it would save switching back to Mosaic (or getting off my backside!).
Not as far as I can see. Although selecting Qobuz app will wake dCS Upsamplers and DACs from sleep this will not apply if the units are actually off of course. There is no reverse option.
When using Qobuz Connect the Qobuz app will control navigation and play as well as volume. There are no functions to operate dCS units ( or of other brands) aside from volume. When using Connect ensure that you reset the dCS volume if necessary as the app lowers this when opened.
BTW, for multi-box setups the Qobuz wake up ( WOL) may not activate a system clock if sleeping as it may not be connected via RS232 or other appropriate interface.
Thanks for the reply Peter. I was maybe hoping for too much! I do tend to prefer the Qobuz app. interface to Mosaic, however. Take care.
I started using Qobuz Connect yesterday.
My initial thoughts are that it sounds brighter than through Mosaic.
QC also starts immediately rather than a very short lag through Mosaic.
QC has better functionalityâŠ

Alphabetical sorting
Might be others which I havenât come across yet.
Iâll do some to and fro-ing QC and M and compare the sound quality before deciding which to use longer term! Of course, I can swop between them very easily.
Thank you dCS for incorporating Qobuz Connect after the update to my Network Bridge, which is an excellent sounding bit of kit.
Please make an affordable update model!
My budget does not stretch to the new Lina DAC X at ÂŁ13,500!
My intial view is that Qobuz Conect sounds better than Roon. I spent some time yesterday evening switching betwen the two and Connect seems to have more presence and a more âforwardâ presentation. May be just me and I will try again when I have time but it definiely sounds diferent to me.
Ok.
At nearly fifty, I definitely need to start studying psychoacoustic.
Thereâs obviously to make there.
It could indeed be entirely psychological but a couple of others in the room with me commented on what they thought was the difference before I had even said anyhting. I know there is supposed to be no difference in sound quality and using Roon is not supposed to change the sound quality but for us last eveing there was a difference that we all perceved. I will listen some more and no doubt time will tell!
Do the levels between Mosaic/Qobuz-connect and Roon match?
Is Roon volume leveling feature disabled?
BTW:
As @Erwan says, matching the volume levels of the items under comparative test is essential. The reason is that our hearing is not linear with volume change. See Fletcher Munson curves and remember that these may not represent precisely your own particular hearing as they are averages across many samples.
This seems more acoustics than psycho-acoustucs.
Even small discrepancies can produce misleading subjective results. I remember Hi-Fi News explaining many years ago that it was necessary to calibrate comparisons within less than 1dB to ensure meaningful results.
Iâm not sure if itâs Psychoacoustics or just plain Cognitive bias built on the illusory truth effect; people repeating the same myth makes it more believable to others
