I recently replaced my Aurender W20SE for the Vivaldi Upsampler Plus to complement my Vivaldi Apex DAC and Vivaldi Clock units. I was very familiar with the Aurender Conductor app and am now trying to get a handle on the dCS Mosaic app.
Currently I have made 3 playlists. Each playlist has a combination of UPnP, Qobuz and Tidal tracks. Where is the data stored for the songs in each playlist? How many tracks can a playlist support (my longest playlist is 150 tracks)? Am I doing all of this wrong by mixing different stream sources?
Any insight on the use of playlists within Mosaic would appreciated.
Hopefully I can help - just taking your questions in turn…
It’s stored on the streamer - so in your case it’s stored on your Vivaldi Upsampler. This is so you have access to the same playlists from all your phones/tables running Mosaic.
There isn’t a set / defined number of tracks that a playlist can hold - the actual number will depend on the length of the data for each track and its location / source details but as playlists get big then finding your way around them can get a bit unweildy as you might expect but we do have people using playlists of several thousand tracks.
Nope - that’s the whole idea of a local playlist in that you can have a mixture of sources.
