Hi all,
I’ve a Rossini Player since 2018 and never had a problem using it with “dCS Rossini” app in my iPhone / iPad.
The Rossini has the latest firmware (2.10) and also the lates network board version (513) available.
I’ve seen that “dCS Rossini” app is no longer available on the App Store so I downloaded “dCS Mosaic”.
I can’t understand why the old “dCS Rossini” app can find and connect to my Rossini but “dCS Mosaic” app keeps saying “Looking for devices…” and find nothing.
I’ve tried also to connect to the device by IP but I still have the same message.
The strange thing is that with the old app I have no issues at all and obviously both the apps have the same privileges to discover devices on my network, Rossini firmware and app version are updated and I have full access to Internet…
Is there anyone who can give me some advice?
Thanks so much!
Hi and welcome to the forum. I hope that you will find help here.
I want to start by giving you some reassurance. You are unlikely to be experiencing a fault with your dCS equipment or with Mosaic.
The issue that you have is almost certainly something in your network that is preventing your newly installed app communicating with Rossini. It can take a little effort to track down the cause but this will likely only involve your time.
I would suggest that you contact dCS support directly and they will help you through the process:
You may first want to check a basic issue that is often encountered. Ensure that both the app and Rossini are connected to the same network. Rossini address should be along the lines of 192.168.xxx.xx.
You will find that Mosaic offers you many features above the old Rossini app including full dCS system control from the app. Once you familiarise yourself with it I am sure that you will like it.
Very strange. One thing you could try is resetting the streaming interface via the web UI. Just put the IP address of your Rossini in a web browser and you’ll find it under Device Settings. Might not help but it won’t hurt and in the best case may have you up and running before Phil is able to look at this on Monday.
Just to make you aware that Francesco and I are also in touch by email so I’ve got him doing some basic tests like simplifying his network by removing the wireless network extenders and wireless bridges that he’s using so we’ll see what that finds us out…
