I am using Mosaic on an M4 MacBook Pro streaming Tidal music with Rossini Apex. Despite hard-wiring all routers, I am still getting occasional system crash. Music suddenly stops playing and the Rossini resets by itself. This happened nearly daily.
Recently I noticed that keeping Mosaic running in the background whilst browsing online seems to be the culprit.
Now if I close the window of Mosaic right after choosing a song, and not re-open it unless I need to change songs, the system becomes much more stable. No more crash for nearly a week.
Is Mosaic fully compatible with Mac’s OS? Or would it prefer other operating systems or devices like smartphones or iPads?
One more thing that I noticed, is that on the left hand column of Mosaic, which displays a list of songs, song titles are moving from right to left. I guess this may be a feature displaying which song is being played. But the moving title that my Mosaic displays is always incorrect (the title of another song is moving)! Sometimes more than one song title is moving. I don’t know if such an erroneous behavior is the precursor to impending crash.
This type of issue is reported fairly regularly. It is unlikely that there is any problem with your dCS unit, Mosaic or your macBook. In virtually all cases of this type that I have come across over the years the solution relates to your LAN. I expect it will be found that a default setting is preventing stable communication with Mosaic.
This should be easy to fix and I advise you to contact Support directly by dropping an email to : [email protected]
I omitted to deal with your further query regarding the moving titles. This is a feature added in version 1.4.4 of Mosaic App. It affects all titles shown on the home page and is related to the length of the title rather than what is playing. It is VERY annoying , many dislike it and it has been notified to dCS and I understand that it may be rectified in a future software revision.
