After many tries, and teeth gnashes, I installed the Kodi server on my LEAP 15.1 machine. But never saw UPNP on Mosaic. Then I added the Mezzmo Kodi plugin, and voila, it now works. You might also want to install the watchdog plugin to autoupdate the Library when things are added.
Finally, Kodi is s system service controlled with systemctrl
