Loewe TV via Toslink - Rossini “No Signal”

It’s a new cable and I checked the end that goes into the SPDIF of the Rossini and there’s a red light. The TV is set to optical out, PCM. I made sure that the Toslink cable is properly inserted.

Hi @Donald_D

Do you have the sync for the TOSLink input set to “A” (Audio)?

Do you have another DAC that you can test that the output is actually live and outputting S/PDIF audio? Do you know what the PCM format the TV outputs? (Normally it is 48kHz/16bits.)

Thanks, Phil. I didn’t want to unplug and move the Lina so I ordered and just received a €7.70 2m TOSLink cable to test. I thought, perhaps I inadvertently damaged the 1.5m AudiQuest Vodka TOSLink. The cheap cable worked right away, and I thought, maybe that’s because I turned off the Rossini before I plugged it in. I had put the Rossini just on stand-by before. So I plugged in the AudioQuest Vodka, again, and it works. I’m also glad that it sounds much, much better than the cheaper cable. I just compared a live performance on YouTube by Billy Strings where he does a Bob Dylan song called “Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right” and another song called “Summertime.” It’s sounds really, really nice with the AudioQuest Vodka.
