Lina DAC doesn't play from Tidal Connect and Spotify Connect

When the cat’s away…

Actually @Phil the mice have been very well behaved, even in your absence. @Anupc both tagged you and recommended emailing support back in the 11th post in this thread but neither found you before James found the quiet corner with the wifi.

Anyway, it’s my fault. I saw @James jumping on another support issue earlier today and assumed he was staging a brief comeback and standing in for you while you were off eating sauerkraut and airing your lederhosen. ASS, U, ME etc. My bad!

No bads to be had good sir!

Obviously @james just isn’t working as hard as the rest of us over here …

(Actually, he looks VERY dapper in his suit!)

… now where’s my lederhosen I need a schnitzel!

Unfortunately, if you search the Roon forum you’ll see that this is a rather often reported problem by 100s (if not 1,000s) of Roon users over the years, regardless of the DACs they use!

And the root causes range from people with expired or improperly working Tidal accounts, to album licensing restrictions in their geography, to problems with their Broadband service, and dozens of other reasons.

The problem you describe is not generally similar to those related to IGMP Snooping - typically the App/Roon having problems discovering the dCS component, not with playback. So, bit of a red herring.

 I definitely second Phil’s suggestion of checking your Lina out at your dCS dealer, or a different network. It could be a problem associated with the TP-Link Router, so, good idea testing a daily reboot. TPG’s network is generally pretty good, so I don’t expect an issue there, but I do wonder about Spotify/Tidal’s CDN partner in Australia.

In any case, I’ll leave it in Phil’s capable hands to help you track this down.

Just reporting my Lina DAC is operating with no errors at the moment. I will download logs if the errors return. Thanks for the help from everyone. I don’t know what fixed the problem, but I suspect doing a automated router reboot at 3AM every day is helping.
