As you are new I suggest that you take time to read back the rest of this thread
In brief there is no update to send you. This is not an update but the beta test of one yet to be issued. I do not know if test access is still open to testers and it is necessary to complete a form with associated NDA (online location is shown in message from James) . If you are approved you will be given instructions.
As you are new I also suggest that you simply wait until the test is completed and dCS finalise the actual version. Notification will be given on this forum so it is worthwhile checking from time to time.

First time I see customer will participate to test a new version. Congrats to DCS for this innovation showing all respect you give to us. Will be very interesting to read feed back from beta tester.

Welcome to the forum @Muzammil. I just want to point out that while it may be the first time you have seen it, this isn’t the first time we have had customers test early release firmware. All firmware updates are customer tested prior to release, usually by a much smaller invited group. This is indeed the first time (at least as far as I’m aware) that we have openly invited forum members and performed early release testing on this scale. But we’re delighted with the quality of the feedback we’re receiving so I expect we will use this model again.

Thank you for accepting me into this community. I have been listening to music since 1970, I am 71 years old and have been changing audio components for 40 years until I own 2 of your products (Bartock Apex and Lina MasterClock) and I must admit that they sound really good, therefore, also due to my advanced age, I believe they will be my last. I have 2 logistics questions. When I update the firmware of my Bartock Apex to version 3.0 will I have to redo the settings of my filter preferences and also reset the Qbuz and Tidal account data or are these data/preferences automatically exported to version 3.0? I need a certain answer. Thank you for your cooperation and kind response. Compliments .

The settings of your filters should persist through the update. Likewise, you should remain logged in to streaming service logins like TIDAL and Qobuz, so no need to log in again.
As far as I am aware, the only setting which may reset when updating to the v3.0 firmware is the Upsampling setting.
I should note that as this is Early Access firmware and not a full release, I can’t say with absolute certainty that there will be no issues. It has passed dCS verification and has generally been stable throughout Early Access testing so far, but if a setting like your Filter choice being reset would be difficult for you to change back, you may want to wait for a full release of the firmware in the future.

Consequently, I am prudently awaiting the final version and will therefore not participate in the testing of this early release. But thank you very much for making it available, but as mentioned, given my age I prefer not to “experiment” too much. As soon as the final version is available, I will carry out this important firmware update. I wish you a good day.

Hello. Have you done this 3.0 update? On what device? I would like to know if you later had to set your preferences and/or any Tidal/Qbuz passwords. Thanks for the reply
Cenzo. you effectively asked this question 16 days ago and James Cook of dCS answered it.
The v.3.0 update as it does not yet exist. The version out there was a beta test which has now been concluded. dCS have written that they found the test useful and from it that some further work remains.
When the finalised v.3.0 is released it will be announced here so keep dipping in.
I assume from your post that you have not yet catrried out an update. To reassure you no existing settings in either the dCS unit or for streaming services such as Qobuz or Tidal are affected.
The update usually has two aspects. The first is that a new version of Mosaic may now be required which App store o r Google( Apple or Android) will supply. You just find the app in the store and instead of it showing " Open" it will inform that an update is available. So you just press the button if it is necessary ( not always).
The second update is to the dCS unit itself. Mosaic will inform you and carry out the update automatically once selected.This is done from the Mosauc control option ( the three lines in the top left of the app). Open this and go to “Support”. Now open “Versions” and press the blue " Check for Updates" lozenge. If available you continue from there and Mosaic will carry out the update automatically.
You can then try the additional new features. The ones you currently use ( map and filters) will still be there. You will continue using your existing logins/passwords for
streaming.

Hi Folks… I was informed that I had been accepted in the Bartok beta test group. I check occasionally but have not received a download or other update to test. Is that correct?

I could not take part on this test as I am neither a Bartok nor a Rossini user. However I have taken part in other tests in the past.
I expect that what you say is correct as access to the test will not have taken place automatically but requires action on your part like other updates. I imagine that if you have received notification from dCS it will be not only of your acceptance but also provide instructions of how to continue. Please check. However I understand that the test process has now been completed.

I just revisited the early June Okay and it’s for early access not Beta. There were no instructions with it so I clicked a few links and found instructions for a download and its complicated installation via the Bartok’s IP address. Took me a while to figure it out but it’s now installed except it’s telling me a manifest was not installed and I should contact dCS. What is a manifest and should I care?
