We’re excited about a number of significant new features that we have in development. These new features are implemented on DAC FPGAs, and we’re looking to get user feedback on them. To do this, we’re preparing an Early Access for firmware v3.0 on Rossini & Bartók units.
Try new Mappers 4 & 5, DSDx4 Upsampling, a new PCM Peak Control feature for Intersample Overs, two new PCM filters for 48-96kS/s, Expanse 3 (where supported) and Volume Lock (new on Bartók & Rossini).
Currently it has only been developed for the Rossini / Bartók platform. We have the highest number of owners of these models, so it lets us get the widest feedback before any further development.
On the 29th, I’ll put a post up with a quick registration form to sign up - forum username, email, unit serial number, that sort of thing so we can verify eligibility.
When you’re signed up, you’ll see all the relevant stuff show up on the forum for you to get started.
Thanks for the response Pete, I know it’s in development and I suppose it will be available to the entire dCS range but always nice to get it confirmed.
Would guess that dCS will do it with the Lina at some point. edited post as it contained an error regarding which FGPAs are used in the Bartok and Rossini
First time I see customer will participate to test a new version. Congrats to DCS for this innovation showing all respect you give to us. Will be very interesting to read feed back from beta tester.
We realise that the announcement of the Early Access program for 3.0 has raised the obvious question in the mind of Vivaldi and Lina owners “what about me?”. I just want to explain that the decision to release EA on Rossini and Bartók wasn’t an easy one, but looking at all the trade-offs we decided it was the most resource-efficient way of exposing this release to the largest ownership base for real world testing and feedback.
Please rest assured we are committed to delivering the functionality that makes sense to both Vivaldi and Lina users as well and we will communicate more in due course.
