Early Access for v3.0 (Rossini & Bartók) - Opening Soon

Hi folks,

I wanted to give you an update on v3.0 firmware. We have been hard at work since the end of the Early Access Programme working on the general availability v3.0 firmware release for Bartók & Rossini.

To highlight why the development is not as straightforward as simply releasing the firmware that was being tested, we have for example taken the decision to implement an auto-standby feature in Bartók and Rossini as part of this update. This helps to reduce power consumption from units when not in use, and implementation of auto standby in consumer electronics will form part of an EU directive from 2027.

We are aiming to have Bartók and Rossini launched by October.

Development activities continue across our other products, however firmware development is platform specific. There are a multitude of features in v3.0, and not all features are applicable to all product ranges, with each range requiring its own specific development work. Unfortunately it isn’t as simple as copying and pasting some code across from one product to another, with each product requiring dedicated development, testing and so on.

I want to reassure you that all current dCS products remain an important part of our ongoing development roadmap – Lina, Vivaldi and Varèse will each be receiving their own v3.0 updates. We’re certainly not dragging our feet on this work, but your patience is greatly appreciated while we build a polished, stable release for your product that will hopefully bring you many hours of listening enjoyment.
