Hi all, well last night I was watching TV, optical out into the delius as usual, when it started clicking trying to lock on.
So I tried a cd, coax rca out, and it wouldn’t lock on to that either.
I unplugged it and restarted it and bingo, or so I thought, it locked for a minute or so and then started searching again.
I know these aren’t serviced anymore so I’m just wondering if users or former Delius users can relate to this and maybe offer some advice or suggestions.
Thanks guys.
When I was at the dCS factory earlier this year, servicing was being carried out on some quite elderly units. Of course it depends upon parts availability but before throwing in the towel I would check with them ( it may not even require replacement parts).
I will add that it may not be the Deeius with an issue at all but the TV tor other video player ( if used) hat has the fault. I would try other video sources to help isolate the culprit if you can.
Hi thank you for your response. Up to now I have tried optical from tv, coax from transport and bnc from streamer and it won’t lock on to any whereas it has locked perfectly for years.
I will take your advice and investigate a possible service repair.
Oh, so it looks like it will not lock to any input. I suggest that you contact:
Hi All,
We can provide limited service for Mk2 Delius units (depending on the fault) but not the earlier Mk1s …
Where are you located in the world?

Phil
Teesside UK. Mk 2. However tonight it is behaving like it just decided to have an off day yesterday. Can that happen? It was unplugged all night and up to 6pm today.
When I plugged it in and powered on it went through its self test as usual and just sat there waiting for a signal.
It’s 9.30pm now and has worked perfectly since 6pm.
I’ll see what happens the rest of tonight.
Fingers crossed.
John
“Having an off day” isn’t a function that we bake into any of our products so I’d have to say that it’s not normal for that to happen … ![]()
We are aware that some bands of TVs tend to have really quite loose TOSLink timings and as such that can cause problems with glitches and dropouts but you were saying that it was more than just the TV audio that was affected which would suggest that it wasn’t that causing your issue.
I’m not aware of anything that would cause the Delius to just generally be unable to lock onto any audio sources (I don’t want to suggest that it’s faulty but if it is then service will be able to let us know what they can and can’t do) as long as you have the Audio Sync set to the source audio rather than an external clock or master…
Not sure what to suggest on this one in the immediate term beyond just keeping an eye on things - of course if it starts to play up again then we can start to work the issue through…
I hope that - in some way that I can’t really imagine - helps…

Thank you Phil and yes it all helps. 10.47pm now and it’s still playing well. I’m puzzled but happy so far.
Kind regards,
John
Well here we are a week or so later and it’s behaving impeccably, played every evening without fault on 3 different sources. Time for a woohoo ![]()
Sorry to reappear on my oldish thread but having played perfectly well since then the delius once again won’t lock on to anything.
Can a possible service be organised through this thread or is it better to ring, email?
Thank you,
John
As suggested before.
Hi @Camper
We can provide only limited service and repairs for Mk2 Delius units (depending on the fault) so until we have your unit on a test bench and replicate the fault then we won’t know for certain whether we can repair your unit or not - please be aware of this.
Servicing and repairs would need to be arranged through either your nearest dCS dealer (which for Teeside would seem to be Hi Fi Sound, Castlegate Mill Quayside, Stockton on Tees, TS18 1BZ) or the distributor that covers your location - which for the UK would be Absolute Sounds … either of those will be able make arrangements to have your Delius returned for investigation.
I hope that helps.
Phil
Thank you Phil yes I’m friends with Simon and Jane at Hifi Sound I’ll have a chat with them.
Regards,
John
Little update, they’re going to look at it tomorrow fingers crossed it will be a shame to landfill it. ![]()
