I’m having problems with my Verdi Transport, its around 10 to 14 years old. I’m feeding a Delius DAC with the tranport.
The digital outputs to the DAC from the transport is switch on and off constantly. It has just started doing it over the past week. The transport is showing no error messages.
I have also tried it with another dac and I’m having the same results. I’ve also tried all the other digital outputs and I’m having the same issues.
Hoping someone can give me some advice. Has anyone else had the same issues?
I think that you may find that your Verdi transport is a little older then you think as Verdi and the related Elgar line went out of production in 2007 ( the earliest review of Scarlatti I can find).
This is an issue that I have not seen before. However elderly players and transports do not have an infinite lifespan and the mechanism or its OPU will eventually fail. This might be a cause of your issue. Unfortunately many of the OEM suppliers of mechanisms (Sony in this case) pulled out of the sector a long time ago and spares are now, mostly ,NLA.
