Others, like me, have extensive CD collections (although my hard media is primarily vinyl I do have +2k of cd’s) however have been on the perennial ripping adventure which never ends. I started ripping my collection in 2011 when I purchased my Linn Klimax DS. 14 years later I have ripped 1000 cd’s…….with only another 1000 to go
Needless to say I am all in with streaming - even with cd’s I already own. Connect will be welcome - the Qobuz app is visually nicer and more complete compared to Mosaic, and I have never quite taken to Roon as my mind keeps playing tricks and saying it sounds inferior to Mosaic
Actually Qobuz Connect fits squarely into the “dCS ecosystem” theme. The last Mosaic app update from a year ago included Tidal Max support, similarly ecosystem related.
Ha - I did exactly the same a while ago Also been curiously following the Mosaic ACTUS release notes in the app store where it’s evident that the software engineering focus (understandably so) is firmly on Varèse at the moment.
I’m still about 50/50 with disc spinning vs. streaming.
W.r.t Roon SQ, yeah, cognitive bias can be extremely strong. Until I proved it for myself that there was no actual difference, my mind played tricks as well
I hope it was a resounding succes and you can all have something of a rest Ali, such an intense environment to work in, but hopefully also fun to do. It was great being there and seeing + speaking to some of you: Phil, Andrew and Rav. Too bad I haven’t said hi to David, but he looked like he was so busy all the time.
Not sure what it says about me or them that I have seen nor heard almost every single product mentioned in that hifi.nl show review. Different focus, I would say so.
Edit: I see they will be doing a second part for the more high end rooms.
I seemed to have missed that motorshow altogether.
Unfortunately it’s less than ideally suited to my use cases of runs to the airport, a weekend shopping trolley and skiing trips to the Swedish ”Alps” with three kids.
However if I could pick just one, this would be the one I would drive home…
