CD Transport remote affects Rossini DAC

I purchased a Jay’s Audio CD Transport. The transport works great although using the power button on the remote (and a few other buttons) is being “recognised” by my Rossini DAC.

Using the CD remote is a must as the power button on the remote is the only way to “wake up” the transport (there is no front panel power button). Unfortunately, every time I use the remote power button it turns the Rossini On & Off. Also other buttons on the remote will occasionally change a setting on the Rossini.

Is there any way to keep this from occurring?

I assume that you mean it is switching Rossini on from “sleep” not off. If so it may be because the Jay’s CD Transport is generating a WOL signal. See this thread:

This should not happen and implies that Jay’s have used codes that are similar to those of dCS. That is an issue with Jay’s not dCS ( the latter having been around for many more decades).

In passing I will remark that ideally a CD transport requires a wordclock input for optimum use with a dCS DAC. Reading their website the Jay’s does not have this or has a 10mHz master clock, depending on model. This does not have the same function and cannot synchronise the two. Maybe it isn’t the best transport for you?

You can lock the dac with the padlock key function in the menu.
I do this with my upsampler as the volume control on my vitus amp cause the filter to change from 1 to 2 every time i turn the volume down.
It’s a pain but it’s a way around it, unless i just use filer 2 all the time.

Try it it might work for you or not, but as it’s the sleep function then i feel it’s not going to be very helpful

You beat me to it! I was going to comment on similar lines: I was recently at a local dealer, listening to a system in which a Vivaldi setup was feeding a Vitus class A integrated amp. Every time I used the Vitus volume control on the remote it muted the Vivaldi. Or, to be more accurate, it stopped delivering a signal. I let the dealer worry about whether it was the mute function that activated, or something else.
