I got a new Aurender w20se to work with Rossine apex. It seems USB and dual AES conection sound different (not good or bad). I am not using Rossini clock.
What is the sonnically recommended connection for W20se to Rossini Apex from the purely dCS’ s ponit of view?
I have a similar setup but also have the Rossini clock. I prefer the dual AES connection over USB and I also have the W20SE synced to the Rossini clock. From talking to several of the Aurender engineers and even owner they seem to prefer this setup as well.
All that being said would listen yourself and choose what you ultimately thinks sounds better to you.
Hi, Carlin.
Thank you for the opinion.
From my months long experience with Rossini renderer, W20se USB connection and duel aes connection present all different stage depth and dynamic balance of different frequencies. With my dual mids in Sonja2.2i and rather short listenning position, generally I feel the mids are too upfront at vocals and electric guitars
Here, I find duel aes sounds most enjoyable with more farther way vocal sound. But also more dynamic music like “Daddy lessens” by Beyonce, I like the Rossini renderer with most dynamic sound.
Well, it is nice to enjoy different sonic signatures by different connections…
Now I am planning to upgrade to Sonja 3.2 with replacing the speaker network, twèeter and upper front baffles from the yg dealer.
Network will boost base unit cutoff from 65jz to 95hz amd new tweeter os saod to prodice better sound accordimg to YG…
I may trade in w20se to help upgrade to Sonja 3.2 though.
