God is an Astronaut: Embers
Post-Rock
Napalm Records - 6th September 2024

I was not familiar with this Irish Post-Rock band but, having heard this album’s title track on Radio Paradise, I bought the download…
And thoroughly enjoyed the entire album.

Christian Kjellvander - About Love and Loving Again

Gloomy album from Swedish singer/songwriter Kjellvander. He himself calls it “doomcountry”. That sums it up quite nicely. Perfect for this time of year. Summer is gone and winter is coming….:grimacing::wink:

It’s groundhog day…

Again, I was not familiar with this artist (perhaps @Erwan is?) but, having heard the track ‘Non Ti Amo Piu’, I bought the album download, which I’m thoroughly enjoying.

I’m not…
From what I can see from his Wikipedia page, his work was mainly used for themes of famous French TV shows and Talk-shows, or he directly contributed in composing original soundtracks.
Will give a listen once the remedial works at my house are over (and that I could finally remove the sheets protecting my system from too much dust).

I will be interested to hear your impressions. It’s not often that French contemporary artists are posted here, so you will have a unique perspective…

I hope that they go smoothly… :crossed_fingers:

You may have heard of this French artist…?

Yes I know her.
I think we even already discussed her, and that I recommended an other album of her

Edit: Here you go:

And yes the remedial works go pretty well, despite all the dust that ends up penetrating everywhere…

Apologies, I didn’t recall that. The challenges of advancing age…

That’s good…

And not so good!

The biggest “not so good” is I have to live without my hi-fi system for now :sob:
Now, everything should be normally completed by end of next week…
…hopefully.

I fully understand.
I have been delaying remedial works for a long time, because it would necessitate putting my entire hi-fi system in storage for quite a long time…

Good luck. I hope that the works are indeed completed by then… :crossed_fingers:

Craftsmen being now out until Monday, guess “who” got granted a pass out for the weekend?!!!

Plugged back to the wall, gently warming-up.
(Sheets and other protective plastic covers remain nearby)

Edit: and I’m definitely bad at taking photos…

Jolly good :+1:
I wish you a happy weekend of listening… :crossed_fingers:

Your B&W loudspeakers appear to be positioned with a lot of ‘toe in’.
Is it an optical illusion, or the camera angle…
or is your listening position very close to the loudspeakers…?

Frankly dimensions and geometry are all messed-up in this picture.
But yes, I’m rather close to the speakers, about 2m.
And I have a lot of toe-in so that both speakers’ axis cross approx ~50cm before my face.
This is what works best for me in this room.

Understood.

BTW, we’re veering rather OT…

Back to the topic then!
