Cream - Born Under A Bad Sign, from the upcoming super deluxe ‘Wheels of Fire’ edition (phase corrected & remastered with remarkable results). Qobuz 16/44.1

“The 5CD super deluxe edition features a 2026 remaster and a previously unreleased phase-corrected version of the entire album. The latter version was achieved by using software to reverse the Haeco-CSG effect originally applied to the album. This was a 1960s audio processing technique intended to make stereo recordings compatible with mono turntables but had a side-effect of ‘blurring’ the stereo imaging.”

3. Amor mio, facciam la pace

Willing to hear some classical baroque and crystalline voices this morning, I was looking for the first album of the Kapsber’girls in my NAS.
After Roon quickly found the band, I hit the discography button, just to check they still haven’t released anything new since 2021.
To my surprise they did!
I totally missed this release from 2025, moreover on a Label I quite like!
Didn’t even listen to it via streaming but directly bought it on Qobuz, transferred it to the NAS, and here I am: enjoying!

:heart::heart::heart::heart::heart:

First LP from Kid Loco released in 1996.
His masterpiece to me remains “Kill Your Darlings” released 5 years later.
(although this record is quite hated by the electro community has too “Pop” and falsy “Arty”)

But this short (30mn) disc is very interesting for all the seeds it plants

I confess I purchased this “30th Anniversary Remaster” due to lazyness: I saw it as recent release on Qobuz although I know I have the original CD Boxset from the late 90s somewhere

It was part of the few CDs I haven’t ripped in the 2010s before I stored them all.
As I didn’t want to spend my weekend “putting the house upside-down” looking for it, a few clicks on Qobuz and here you go!

I thought I would share some discoveries from my recent China trip.

The first was a track Bob McConnell of Transparent Cable introduced me to. It is a fantastic demonstration of the full gamut, both tonally and dynamically, of a symphony orchestra. Excellent recording. The track he used was no.4, “Aborada del gracisoso. Assez vif.” Bonus point for the female conductor!

This one is from Richcom’s demo playlist. A fantastic recording starring one of my absolutely favourite pianists, Martha Argerich. As usual, Martha reminds us that the piano is a percussion instrument!

This one also from the Richcom playlist. The Cincinnati Pops doing what they do best under the baton of Erich Kunzel. Try the William Tell Overture.
