To me, Chan Marshall’s best album of her era with the Matador label. Label that followed her from 1996 to 2016 or so producing 7 albums of her.
Matador eventually refused to produce “The Wanderer” which was “Cat Power” very own project after her pregnancy and first years of motherhood, claiming there was no hit in it.
Marshall then quit Matador to auto produce “The Wanderer”.
“The Wanderer” ends up being one of her most -if not her most- acclaimed record.
It is her best IMHO.

Youn Sun Nah second album with German Label ACT.
This one as excellent, if not exceptional, SQ.
I attended one of their concert when « rinôçérôse » were touring France and then Europe after the release of this record.
By the way, risks to take the mic of “Bitch”'s singer into the forehead were relatively high when just in front of the stage… Where I was placed ![]()
