DSD64 or “original” DSD is the resolution of the file, which is stored in DSF file format.
Higher resolution DSD files, for example 2xDSD = DSD128, are also stored in the DSF file format.
This should be visible in the Credits or Info section of the song/album through your music server (see below, from Roon).
As a guess, I think what @PAR meant, as a friendly fyi, was to share that there shouldn’t be any reason to designate “DSF” in the descriptor since this confers no information about file resolution.

My request for clarification was use of the term 64xDSD. As you correctly say 2xDSD = DSD128. So 64xDSD = DSD4096
Wow, that would be over 180 million samples per second. I’m afraid even @Phil’s storage system would run out of room! ; )

I’ve always been a huge fan of Leslie Feist since her debuts.
Metals is her third best album, and probably her best : lyrics, saturated guitar, arrangements…
Nowadays she still plays some of Metals tracks in her sets or concerts.
