I know that it’s ‘out of season’, although, IMO, music shouldn’t be restricted to any season…
Anyway, I couldn’t resist another listen.

I’ve been remiss in not reading The dCS Edit for a while…
Until today, when I read this article;

I played this LP to death when it was first released, so I just had to add it my play queue.

Qobuz has also 24-Bit 192 kHz

Thanks.
I’m currently happy with the resultant sound from upsampling to DXD my Pink Floyd (and other) ‘red book’ files (already on my server), but I have been pondering, for a while, if it makes sense to buy the various higher res versions that are now available…
At the moment, I’ve decided not to, because I’m not sure there will be much (if any) uplift in SQ.
Also, it would be an expensive undertaking (I have a large library).

Could you not just try to compare the highres Qobuz version with your redbook file?

I could, and I will.
I have an Antipodes K41 (Gen. 4) server, which I’m very happy with, so it’ll be interesting to hear how the ‘red book’ version on the K41 compares to the high res version, streamed via Qobuz.
I will report back shortly…

I have just listened (again) to ‘High Hopes’ (Pink Floyd: Division Bell).
Firstly, the ‘red book’ version from my K41, then the streamed 24/192 version from Qobuz…
Darn it @Ermos, you are right, it’s easily discernible that the High Res version sounds better (on my system).
I’m now going to have to buy the High Res version…
and also investigate which of my other favourite albums are now available in High Res.
This is probably going to be expensive.
Oh well…
