I wonder if you have the right cover here? I checked Qobuz and the 24/96 version is shown with the original cover but the artwork given by you is listed as a 6/44.1 version. This is on Qobuz UK. I wonder if they have got them round the wrong way?
A great album whatever. Aslo worthwhile is its companion " More Blues and the Abstract Truth" which actually has the track ,Blues and theAbstract Truth .
Sorry, you’re right. I downloaded the album art I recognised from my father’s much played vinyl original but that isn’t the cover art that comes up if you select the 24/96 version on Qobuz, which looks like this:
Thanks. Just to confuse things further, when I said “the original cover” I was referring to the original CD Cover as I gather from your post that the original vinyl cover may have been the one you originally showed. Anyway, all is clear now.
It seems the reality is probably even more complex. According to Discogs there were versions of this album released by Impulse in 1961 with both the above sleeve designs so which one is the “original” is not immediately obvious. I wouldn’t mind betting there are some jazz aficionados here who would know. My father’s version might be a 1961 release or may be any of several re-releases from the early 60s, no idea).
The fact remains I should have posted the art corresponding to the streamed version I listed in the text (although occasionally the right version is hard to find at a decent resolution). My bad.
