Either unshielded or shielded will work absolutely fine - CAT5e is also perfectly suitable … The reason why we (and others) suggest unshielded cables rather than shielded is a bit “grey” and really depends on all the kit that you have and whether you feel that you can tell a difference in the audio performance if you have the perfect storm.
