I am curious , what percentage of Rossini Apex Player owners use Mosaic vs Roon and why?

I cannot answer that as I have no idea. This kind of question needs a poll. I think you can find a facility to do this in the forum software but maybe someone else knows how.

It would be a guide only as not all dCS owners read or participate in this forum and even if they do not all may answer.

Interesting question though.

Why restrict it to Rossini Apex users? Mosaic or Roon are not specific to individual products in the current dCS range.

I agree, I am once again happily back with DCS components. I trying a fair number of things but seem to always come back to DCS. It is really my favorite. Each time I need to revalidate my previous assumptions . IE: the Mosaic vs Roon . I have a Synogoly NAS with MinimServer. I mostly listen to my own library of Ripped CD’s 95% with Qobuz being the other 5%. So before I start loading my files I want to try and get settled on my control app etc. I us a MBP, also I have a moon audio ethernet cable router to Rossini? I always remember DCS saying the basic Cale they prove is just fine and unshielded so I want to verify that as well. Thanks for the response, I remember most of the mosaic setting so im good there etc.

What Ethernet cable are you using into you streamer?

Either unshielded or shielded will work absolutely fine - CAT5e is also perfectly suitable … The reason why we (and others) suggest unshielded cables rather than shielded is a bit “grey” and really depends on all the kit that you have and whether you feel that you can tell a difference in the audio performance if you have the perfect storm. It depends on the significance you give it. This forum has 1622 registered members, Of this only 64 have responded to this poll or 4%. So 1588 members have either not seen the question or have decided not to participate. Perhaps all of them solely use Mosaic or only Roon, use something else or a mixture . We cannot tell.

yes. As there is no process to validate membership or complete the poll that can indeed apply. This kind of poll is pretty unreliable. Having had a little involvement of devising a poll with professional pollsters it is quite a complex process, not only in selecting and qualifying who you poll to form a representative sample but in phrasing questions and their order to avoid bias.
