You might have seen this but if not I found it both interesting and relevant ( not that Varese will be anything more than a fantasy for me
)
This is a reprint of the original TAS review from last April, as posted here:
Thanks Erno. Both Daily Aidiophile and Daily Audio have picked it up as a new article today for some reason.
@AndrewS, you are famous! : )
âThanks to an invitation from company director David Steven, I was able to visit dCS headquarters in Cambridge, where I was squired around by the affable Andrew Szelke, a longtime aficionado of all things dCS who recently joined the company as its Program Manager.â
IMHO, it is an amazing product and everyone at dCS should be quite proud.
Haha, thanks RG. Yes, even I got my 15 minutes (and my own adjective)!
It is hard to grasp (even for me as it predates me) that this project, which touched pretty much everyone in the company and ran for over six years, was a journey of discovery in which nobody really knew where the destination (in terms of sound quality) was going to lie until it was reached.
The folks here are justifiably proud of the way Varèse has been received by the press, but the best reward is seeing the expressions on customersâ faces when they hear it for the first time. Something which I have had the privilege to do on many occasions and which I will never get tired of!
