Yeah, clearly sounds like the end of an era…
Not only for J.Atkinson as the article titles, but much globally for Stereophile and the magazine that was still perceived as a reference…

But also the beginning of a new era. Maybe it will be the start of something even better (the retirement of JA notwithstanding)? Time will tell..

I concur with @anupc, and wish I could agree with @AndrewS - but I think the general direction of travel in print journalism, especially with significant technical content, is down rather than up and to greater things. It is the age we live in.

I agree with Simon, and specifically with Stereophile, IMHO, it’s been getting worse, not better. I’m curious about the Subscriber numbers, I imagine it’s declining every year. Perhaps the new management buy-out will spur some changes, as you say, time will tell.
