Well….I am not sure…there is a place left free on your rack…It gives the strange feeling that something is missing, you should work on that. The good news is that given the place left, it will be a cheap addition
For the rest of your system, congratulations, it must be difficult to do better than that !
Too bad it’s not legal to record snippets of copyright protected songs and share them on a private forum so that members can get an idea what each other‘s systems sound like. We would have to use royalty-free music where redistribution is clearly allowed but I’m not sure that would work. I’d rather hear what Norah Jones sounds like on setups shown here.
You’re absolutely right that a recording of another system won’t tell us exactly how that system sounds in its own room. Still, even with those limitations, using the same track and recording method could give at least a relative sense of differences between setups.
I follow your logic but I am afraid that practicality would get in the way of a meaningful result.
How would you arrange this ? How do you know that the same track is being used? Although the track and artist may be the same, a ( say) French version will not necessarily sound the same as an American one. Further Spotify may not sound the same as Qobuz.
Then there is making the recording. How? Different microphones sound different. Recorded on a smartphone? Android or Apple phones will not sound the same nor, I suspect may phones from the same brand but from different generations.
How is this overcome? Unless everyone involved has access to the same source and recording equipment am afraid that I could not draw any meaningful conclusion from this method . The replay equipment will dominate in any case. If it doesn’t then there is no point in our buying all this stuff
Sorry for the late response. To answer your question I just wouldn’t feel comfortable with nothing to trip in between the wall and the amps. We get a lot of thunderstorms in the Spring and Summer where I live. These Transparent Opus power isolators don’t impede the power in any way. System sounds great and I have a little peace of mind.
My youngest son drew this hifi set up at kindergarten. Notice the attention to detail re the CH Precision amp and dCS dac .A future audiophile in the making .
The preamp came from my disasterous flirtation with vinyl. But when I heard it in my system I thought it sounded much better (to me). The sound stage was better and I just liked what it did to the sound overall. Vinyl’s gone but the preamp stayed. To be fair that was with my Vivaldi system and I haven’t directly connected my Varese to the amps but I don’t know if I want to mess with it at this point.
