Hello
I wasn’t going to post in this thread because my system and room are just not worthy. But since dogs are allowed, well I couldn’t help posting a picture of Max! He’s a rescue, spent the first year of his life caged outdoors in the South Carolina heat.

Anyway, your rooms all look so pristine and clean like an interior designer has planned them, which I guess in some cases they probably have. Also, the systems I see here look so well balanced, the dCS components are not standing out, they are simply blending in alongside equipment of similar stature.

My case is different. My home is an old Virginia farmhouse on 60 acres and I really have a ‘mancave’ rather than a dedicated music room. I like to mess with buying gear and tinkering with it and have several restoration projects scattered around, so my room has to accommodate all these projects and well…. It doesn’t look very nice!!!

Also, my Rossini Player and clock are by far the standout components in my otherwise modest system, which comprises a Nottingham Analogue TT, Manley Steelhead, Veloce Audio LS-1 pre and Saetta power, and ProAc speakers.

The room opens into another space, formerly a dining room, and I have a little system shoehorned in there too.
Anyway, congratulations to you all, I am quite envious of your listening environments but in a good way, it’s quite inspiring to scroll through this section.

Max says howdy!

And then my little system in the other room…

Have a great day and go MUFC!

Looks great. Some of these rooms that are clean and well designed, suffer from flaws like too much glass, ceiling height. Just not ideal acoustics…. One could argue it starts with acoustic treatments rather than appearance.

Where in Virginia are you? I went to UVa

Ross… I’m in a little one horse town called Brodnax, about 90minutes south of Richmond, 45 minutes to Petersburg.
On the plus side, as well as Richmond, we have Raleigh, Durham and Cary within striking distance.

I like your Proac loudspeakers.

Carl, Looks like a nice system and room to me. Congrats to you and your dog. Clearly a good boy.
I share your choice in REL CS subs - they are a fine thing. As a LFC fan I also share your sentiment re: the game today :grinning: for one day only.

My Bartok clocked by Denafrips Terra, fed by HiFi Rose RS250 as steamer, working extremely well with Nagra Classic INT / PL-P and 300P, to Stenheim Alumine 2 speakers.

Hello Dickens,

I’m intrigued by the quasi pyramid shaped object that’s hanging from your TV screen.
Presumably, it’s purpose is as a sound refraction device…?

Due to lack of space, I have no option other than to have my TV between my loudspeakers, which I know is not optimal.

Does your ‘refraction device’ make a noticeable difference to your listening experience?

I would be interested to know more about it, and which company sells it, assuming that you didn’t make it yourself…

The effect is quite noticeable with a more accurate and stable imaging . I used to cover my TV with a thick blanket but this TV Cover works better for both the look and sound.

It is called Escart Pyramid TV Cover which is made in Japan. You may find more information below.

Very interesting, thank you.

It seems that one cannot purchase it directly from the Japanese manufacturer, so I’ll see who is selling it online/through dealers.

Hi Dickens It’s sound really better with the Denafrips Terra Clock on?

I have previously auditioned Rossini Clock and found that the performance of Terra is quite close in my setup. Both improve imaging and give a touch of musicality and smoothness when compared to the stock Bartok.

Does the Denafrips Terra automatically switch between 44.1 and 48khz when connected with two clock cables ?

Yes it will. It works exactly the same with Rossini Clock.

It is the Bartók that switches, not the Denafrips. All the clock outputs on the Denafrips are active simultaneously, it is the Bartók that decides whether to lock to clock input 1 or 2 based on the sampling rate specified in the frame header of the audio stream.

did you compare RS250 external vs internal streaming done by Bartok? (guess you’re using AES EBU?)

I am using Roon and found that adding the HiFi Rose as endpoint improves the sound quality quite significantly than direct Ethernet connection. I am using USB between the 2.

Nice, one of the first non dcs clocks that will work

Not quite actually. A key capability of the Rossini Clock is the Dither function which effects a small but audible benefit to the dCS DACS. No other Clock supplier supports that, including Denafrips.
