The way Mosaic discovers dCS components is quite interesting when looked at closely via Wireshark (as I outlined in a previous post). I don’t recall seeing any kind of serial number validation as such, my guess is that the incorrect serial number might have been a symptom of something else being off. In any case, glad it was fixed swiftly.
