I have searched our Forum, but Can’t find any post on this matter.
Using Qobuz within the Mosaic app, shows unplayed tracks and the current playing track continuously scrolling from left to right. I tried the Qobuz Connect app, it doesn’t do it. I hadn’t noticed it before, is this normal behaviour?
I don’t see any setting within Mosaic to stop this constant scrolling.
The scrolling appeared with Mosaic v 1.4.4. It is really unbearable as it affects every track displayed that has a title over a few characters in length. It cannot be disabled and I have complained. Perhaps you should too.
I have contacted them as I said and my understanding is that it is NOT a glitch but is a “feature”. Most classical tracks have long titles being musical descriptions hence, for me, there are <9 different tracks on screen, scrolling at different points in their titles simultaneously. Hard to read and distracting. @Phil and @James please note and [pass to whoever is responsible. Truncation of long titles as in previous Mosaic versions is preferable.
I would like to hear @robertt on this as I imagine it to be difficult to navigate for those who are blind or with impaired vision and use VoiceOver.
I 100% understand what you are saying Pete. Hard enough when the titles are stationary, but to have them randomly scrolling must be awful. There should be an option to turn this on or off.
I do not have my Melco N1 hooked up anymore, does the scrolling occur via UPnP, Rossini CD? Or, is it simply Qobuz, Tidal etc…
It is an issue with Mosaic v.1.4.4 not the dCS unit. It affects all Mosaic music displays that provide a list of selections irrespective of the origin. So as well as Qobuz( etc,) and UPnP it affects the full radio listings in the airable display though fortunately most station IDs are too short to start scrolling. Rossini CD does not show in Mosaic for me as my upsampler ( and the rest) is Vivaldi.
I totally agree. This ghastly scrolling is a completely ridiculous ‘feature’, it was perfectly fine before. It’s so annoying that I’ve been forced to stop using the Mosaic app altogether. Please dCS remove the scrolling, or at least make it a user option - so we can all switch it off!
To all, especially @Phil and others at dCS. Please don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater!
The issue is with the home page view and album or track listings. The issue does not exist when playing by switching to Play Queue view ( and of course here there is a useful blue track indicator to show what track is in play).
However the play bar has always scrolled long titles. Thus is absolutely fine as only a single track is shown.
So everything scrolled off or on is, IMO, not what is wanted.
