Hi Thor,

We still have most parts available to service the Mk2 P8i so if you contact Acoustic Tuning and give them the serial number of your P8i then we can work with them to diagnose the issue (it’s not necessarily the OPU) …

Hi @Phil ,

I noticed that you assisted SOATJ with a difficulty, and I was wondering if you could be able to assist me with a similar issue. Since I’m new to forums, I hope my response here is appropriate. I apologize ahead of time if this is prohibited.

The serial number of my DSC P8i is P8i-3696.
Regretfully, it has stopped opening the tray lately.

At first, it would only sometimes open.
The only time the issue arises is when the CD is not in there.

Now, if there is no CD inserted, it will not open at all.
There is a slight click when you press the button.
The tray’s motor is making noise but almost immediately stops.

The tray remains fully closed.
The button won’t react when I try to press it again.

Is there anything I can attempt to resolve this?
Should I take it to a repair expert instead?
I am not aware of any expert repair companies with connection to DCS in my area.
I am based in Lommel, Belgium.

I appreciate any response in advance from any of you.

Thank you for raising this - can you please pop an email over to [email protected] with that fault description, the serial number and a photo of the rear connector panel of your P8i then I can tell if it’s a Mk1 or Mk2 P8i and from there what we are able to provide in the way of support.
