Very important for the Asian market. There’s a reason Accuphase don’t make a streamer and yet do make 4 different levels of SACD player/trasport.

Esoteric drive mechanism again, or different?
Teac/Esoteric ceased supplying SACD/CD mechanisms on an OEM basis some yerars ago. dCS moved to using Denon/Marantz mechs subsequently ( hence , for example, the replacement of Vivaldi Transport with Vivaldi Transport II). DM have now also ceased OEM supply but dCS bought a stock of remaining units to meet their estimated needs.

I wouldn’t be betting my future on Esoteric - already needed CPR once, and seem to be teetering again.
As I pointed out above , you would not need to have such a concern if you are buying the Varese transport. It isn’t an Esoteric mech.
However, all optical drives will need attention at some point as the OPU (laser) will degrade over time.

Yes - was more a general comment on Esoteric. Great products…business people…not so much…
