Great! I had Lemo’s on my Sennheiser headphones.

My Nagra pre-Amp with its off-board PSU uses a LEMO connector. It has a very satisfying assured and secure connection.

Lemo connectors are used in the PS/Unit connection for one of my headphone amps. Very nice. I think that the concept was originally designed fror the medical rather than audio world.

Have you spotted that each of the “zones” of the Varese has rear panels with visible fixings? I suspect that this has been done to make replacement easier and may prefigure future developments.

I just have to say, the pronounced sculpted facia aesthetics is just off the charts! Museum piece worthy

Just to say that the wonderful new cases emphasise that this is not intended to be purchased piece by piece but as a complete system. Unless you have the User Interface and presumably the Core you cannot control individual units as they have no displays.

External Home Automation interface is missing - for Crestron and AMX and such. Unless maybe the intent is for Bluetooth APIs into the User Interface unit?

Based on Robert’s and Pete’s (@honchi and @PAR) helpful posts this implies the minimum price to entry for Varese in USD = $229,500 (core, dual DAC, UI). In theory, the UI unit could be replaced by a downloadable app, but for now let’s say you need four boxes.

I reason from the above, and the Lina UI unit, that we will soon see a second, less expensive, dCS offering with these components:

(a) U/I unit (likely identical to Varese)
(b) One box, less expensive DAC unit (thereby providing an upgrade path to Varese dual mono DACs).
(c) Less expensive Core (same as b)

To get this second offering to $100k, the DAC and Core would need to need to be ~$87k, versus $215k for Varese.

That is a big gap. So… Either we will have a second DAC platform materially less than Varese, or the entire line will be much, much more expensive.

I welcome your thoughts : )

Yes, that is good news :call_me_hand:

I would be interested in the trickle down product line and what time line to expect these.
Given the new architecture, I don’t think that the existing Vivaldi/Rossini line can be upgraded to something like this (bad…)
