David, sometime between now and the end of the week you will experience a “Wow” moment. I expect you to have another sometime during March when it has burned in
.
Thanks Gregg👍
I’m sure I will Pete.![]()
I am in the slightly unusual position of being able to compare pre-APEX Bartók and Bartók APEX at will in the listening room at the factory. I don’t know how many of our dealers keep pre-APEX units on hand for comparisons. To my ears the difference is, well let’s just say ”not subtle”…
I have also recently upgraded my own Bartók to APEX and fallen in love with it all over again. Feeling a bit foolish as I have been telling everyone that Lina is my favourite dCS product for x, y and z reasons and now I am feeling equally strongly that Bartók my favourite for a, b and c reasons.
It’s like trying to choose between Chablis and Chianti, Gruyère and Gorgonzola, Monet and Matisse. Which is ”better”? What is ”better” even? Who cares? ENJOY!
I think we may be long lost brothers ![]()
I especially liked the Paltrow vs Hurley reference ![]()
A question that has come from all this for me is,
Can dCS products also be effected by a streaming software update like naim has been?
Obviously i know that in the vivaldi the dac is in a different box, but I was just wondering.
The way the naim works seems to be the problem and i guess that the ring dac is very different. But i find it hard to see how an update to the software in the streaming section can alter the sound so much for them guy’s.
The other problem is naim won’t say anything about it, and so no real answers to it all and lot’s of guess work going on.
But as the same basic streaming board is used by both, i believe. Plus an update to this will soon be out hopefully with qobuz connect, it has made me think and post this.
Cheers
