[Mosaic FAQ] What are the differences between the iOS and Android versions of Mosaic Control?

Mosaic Control was developed from the ground-up as a cross-platform app and when compared side-by side it is obvious that the iOS and Android versions are identical in layout and function. In some cases platform-specific icons and gestures are employed in order to have Mosaic behave consistently with other apps on the same platform. The differences are as follows:

  • The back-button icon is platform-native so as to match the iconography to which the user is accustomed.
  • iOS employs the swipe-from-left gesture to go back to the prior page.
  • Android employs the swipe-from-left gesture to open the settings drawer.
  • Android fully supports the native Android back button and repeatedly backing up through the device selection screen will close the app.
