With Rossini apex linked to solid state amps(Pass X600.8) in the study, I recently bought tube amps (Matersound 845 monoblocks, dual parallel 845 tubes, A class 55wats/channel) for the living room.
They are hooked to dCS Bartok apex driving YG Vantage 3.
The sound is very different to Pass indeed; relaxed, mellow and thick vocals.
It is amazing how the old tech (tube) can compete the new tech(mosfet) in reproducing music in different SQ…
