I got a new Rossini apex

After hearing several dacs, I added Rossini apex with a new mbl n51 in my study room system.
Comparing the bartok apex which is now moved to the living room, Rossini is real step-up indeed. Sound is smoother and more vivid.
I am totally satisfied for the upgrade !

Congratulations! I’m sure you will enjoy it.

Congrats @Simon2, delighted to hear you’re satisfied. You can definitely expect it to improve over the first couple of hundred hours so more is to come.

Looking forward to seeing some pics in the Showing (off) your dCS setup thread!

My bank account does not appreciate these temptations.

Are you also using the clock?

Enjoy it!

I am so satisfied with rossini after bartok, I do not feel the need for the clock, at least now…

Once you try the clock, there’s no going back!

Does adding a clock clearly produce perceptablly better sound?

There are so many threads on the forum relating to this question. I suggest that you use the search facility to look through the archives.

As I have said before, it depends on what you regard as being perceptible and what you value as better. Some find the addition of the clock not possible to hear, others find it essential. So sound, maybe, music probably .

As you said, I already read many different opinions about the clock; diffrent brands, word/master clocks, etc.
I assume if the difference from the
clock; whether better, worse or even unnoticeable is up to the listeners, the perceptable sonic differece may be very subtle. It is quite different in speakers as the brands, models produce clearly different sounds such as my yg sonja and vantage are very different sounding.
I’d rather spend my money on some gears I can appreciate the clear differences…

I suggest that you arrange to have a demo, ideally in your home, so that you can hear for yourself the extent to which, if any, the clock makes to your ears, in your system.

I will give a try…

At risk of some people here shoot me  … I would describe the sound signature of the clock as “more organic”! vs pure Rossini. If you have the clock and listen to it for a while and THEN remove it you’ll get the point.

That was certainly my experience…
Hence, I have a Rossini clock in my system

I got your point! Do you use any seperate streamer?

Nope, everything I tested so far didn’t reach the SQ of the internal streamer (Melco, Innuos, Aurender, Nucleus tested via USB)
Regarding the clock: you got a great DAC now, the clock is easily to add later on…no hurry!
and before I would buy an external streamer, I would go for the clock first!

Clock indeed… I assume you mean rossini clock.

Yes thats pretty much it. With the clock there is no real/dramatic improvement. If, however, the clock is unknowingly absent the audio effect is immediate. In my case this results in a frantic search for the solution to the missing W on the clock screen.

Not necessarily. There are several who use a Vivaldi clock with their Rossini. Hunt for some of Ben’s posts @all2ofme

Still this is strange…a clock that costs more than a DAC…
