Exactly. Even if we get passed Stonehaven, Brechin/Laurencekirk/Stracathro sections are notorious for drifting. The bypass goes from ‘ooh ok that’s not to bad’ to ‘oh it’s completely white’ every 20 mins.
Yes, looking similar here. Judging by the satellite pictures we’ve had similar amounts of snow but it looks like you got the worst of the wind.
But even this pales by comparison with the infamous ”Snow Canon” storms of 2011 and 2016. Took me over half an hour to dig the car out - and that was in the middle of town.
It all sounds like it snows in the north in winter. Who knew?

Happy new year, all. Might not be as hot as it is in Hong Kong for @Bauer, but it’s definitely not snowing here in NZ. There are plenty of penguins and sea lions coming ashore to say hi, though. One even slept next to the main road for two days. What a life ![]()
