Elgar+/Purcell : how to read flac files of my music library, easily?

Correct, only one version of the Network Bridge. Any unit can run the latest firmware.

Thanks for your advice. Bartok Apex is tempting, but I must check with the shop (in Paris) if they can make me an offer for my dCS actual stack in exchange. If the price difference is correct, I could buy the Bartok. If not, I will try the Network bridge. I this solution is OK for my use, then I can upgrade later to Bartok Apex.

I only found Bartok non Apex used here in France.

I must check if my SACD exists in hires format files too.

Any authorized dealer will also be able to tell you if there any Certified Pre-Owned units available. These carry a full factory guarantee.

I should visit the Paris shop tomorrow

Hello, I went to the shop and I had a very good experience : very friendly and professional !

I bought the used Network Bridge (black one).

It was fitted with V1.02 509 firmware, I updated it to 529.

After a reboot, I was able to play files from my Linux server (with minimserver) and all was OK.

The Network bridge is connected to my Purcell with single AES, then DSD umpsampling on Elgar+.

Mosaic works OK too.

Only bug with minimserver : no contextual menu when right click on the tray icon (this bug is known o my Linux distro).

Thanks again for all helps.

I will probably upgrade to Bartok Apex later, the seller was very kind and I should get an offer for my Elgar+ and Purcell in exchange.

Regards

Thanks for reporting back Nico, glad to hear it went well. Wishing you many hours of musical enjoyment!

Hello, I have a little question : when i want to turn off my Network Brige, it’s better to put in in Standby mode with Mosaic Control or I can switch it off directly (turn off AC main) ?

Hello @nico_g ,
As for every hifi component, unless you use it very rarely, better to keep it powered on and to put it on standby mode.

Especially true for more modern, low power standby components. Network Bridge is fine to put in standby. I would advise against it with amplifiers

Thanks for advices. When I don’t use my system for a few days, I turn off everything. I think I will always put the Network Bridge in standby before turning off.
